RBI is a program that provides Prevention, Diversion, and Rapid Re-housing services to families experiencing a housing crisis. In partership with our local Coalition to End Homelessness, we provide short term rent subsidies to eligible households along with case management and other services to help families find and keep safe and permanent housing. Our goal is to help families quickly get into housing while helping to build a foundation for maintaining permanent housing. Families work with a Housing Resource Specialist to establish a housing plan along with longer range goals for self-sufficiency.

Jessica and her three young children (ages 1, 2 and 6) entered IHN in late spring while she was working part-time at a fast-food restaurant. She found a second job and then signed up to start cosmetology school in the fall. As she worked over the summer, RBI helped subsidize her rent and her case manager worked with her on budgeting. She finished the program in August. Three months later, when an auto accident kept her out of work, RBI paid her December rent. Jessica eventually finished school and moved into her own home through our Partners in Housing program!
